On behalf of over 4,000 families who make up Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
Parish, I welcome you to our parish family. Our parish began in 1920 through the
efforts of Father Nelson Baker. Father Baker gathered the people who lived in
our area for Mass and Sacraments on a regular basis. Until 1949, our parish was
a mission of Our Lady of Victory Basilica, Lackawanna, New York, where Father
Baker was founder and pastor. At the present time, Father Baker has been
declared "Servant of God" the first step to canonization. We are proud of our
roots in the life and mission of Father Baker. Currently, our parish family is
involved in many ministries and parish activities, including extensive religious
education programs, adult education, evangelization and social activities. We
have one of the largest Catholic schools in the Diocese of Buffalo, and we reach
out to so many people who are in need through our outreach ministries. If you
would like to join us, all you need to do is call the rectory or stop in
personally to request a registration form. Also, let us know what your interests
are, or if you would like to get involved in one aspect or another of the life
of our parish.
If you are already committed to another parish family or Christian Church, may
God Bless and increase your faith. I hope our parish web page gives you an idea
about the life of our parish. Thank you for visiting us. If you have a
suggestion that might help to strengthen our parish life, please feel free to
leave us a message.
God Bless you and come back and visit us again.
